Introduction to the Psychodinae

About 2000 species have been described in about 100 genera distributed all over the world (Wagner et al. 2008). No satisfactory system of classification has yet been developed, and different authors often follow widely different generic and tribal concepts (e.g. Vaillant 1971; Duckhouse 1987; Ježek & van Harten 2005).
